Country House Dinner Party

Think of dining at Roundwood in Co. Laois as going to a dinner party with friends you haven’t met yet, unless you are coming with your friends, in which case you can think of it as a dinner party that you don’t have to wash up after. Either way, a dinner party is how we like to describe the experience. And as at a dinner party, you never have to worry if you ordered the wrong thing, because we decide what you’ll be having. Each course is a surprise but it’s not so much a case of you’ll eat what you’re given, as you’ll enjoy what you’re eating.
What’s on the menu depends on what is in season and available locally. The ingredients we use are simple and honest, like my wife Hannah, who grew up here. We’re more than happy to cater for any dietary requirements and take great care when cooking for people with allergies.
If you’re looking for a bit of privacy, we can offer you your own table in the study (max 12) to catch up with friends and family. Please let us know when booking.
Breakfast is another enjoyable experience at Roundwood and is served until 11 am each morning. We make our own breads, yogurt, muesli and fruit compote which you can enjoy while we cook your full Irish.
